I am an artist based in Perth, Australia. I paint at my studio in Fremantle and run art classes/workshops across Perth. My love for art and its healing potential has led me on a mission to empower those challenged by anxiety, with creative skills which would help them open up, let go and connect with their creative self. For many years I had struggled with health issues which caused a negative impact on other areas of life. The severity of health issues limited many of the avenues I could have taken up to maintain physical and mental well-being. A counselor directed me to 'ACT-BELONG-COMMIT' resources which led me to a community art group. This group and art then became my lifeline.
In art, I found a constructive way to direct negative emotions and find a positive state of well-being. And from then on painting became a therapeutic process of expression and letting go. Later I followed my heart into visual arts as a professional artist launching 'Tranquilcanvas'.
'Tranquilcanvas' With 10 years of teaching experience , I realised that I could extend my experience to art. I took up opportunities to tutor at local community and arts centres. Encouraged by participants' positive feedback, I started tranquilcanvas to share my love for art with others who might be challenged by anxiety and looking for positive ways to find well-being. These art classes and workshops are now highly sought for its inclusiveness for learners of mixed skill levels and emphasis on enjoying the process of creation rather than worrying over the end product.
I also paint when I am not running workshops and classes. To see my some of artworks, click on 'Gallery' page.
